Carlos Osvaldo Mabutana
Founder - CEO
Carlos introduced this disruptive education model to Mozambique in 2021. After three years of refining his vision and adapting it to the local context, YOLO was officially launched in January 2024. A serial entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience, Carlos has founded more than a dozen ventures across diverse sectors, always guided by a strong sense of purpose: helping people discover and live their true potential.
Lam do Canto Mabutana
Managing Parner - COO
Lam has been a pioneer of this educational model in Mozambique since 2021. As YOLO’s Managing Partner and School Director, she oversees daily operations and ensures that students have the structure, care, and conditions they need to thrive. With a background in the hospitality industry, Lam brings a strong culture of excellence, attention to detail, and student-centred service to every aspect of YOLO’s learning environment.
Lauryn Tinga
Tutor
Lauryn has been part of YOLO since its creation, bringing experience at the intersection of communications, education, and youth development. She is passionate about creating safe and empowering learning environments and supporting young people to find their voice and purpose. Through learning design, storytelling, community engagement, and mentoring, Lauryn contributes to building a more confident, informed, and connected generation.
